Products Description
A naturally occurring polymer that also serves as an anionic surfactant, sodium lignosulfonate is typically recovered from by-products of the paper industry via the sulfite pulping process. Regardless of water hardness, it can be completely dissolved in water. In aqueous solution, it forms a brown colloidal liquid; however, it does not dissolve in organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Lignin precipitation occurs when it is exposed to strong acids.

Products Application
In its principal use, sodium lignosulfonate serves as a water-reducing admixture for cement. It disperses cement particles, freeing the water that would otherwise remain entrapped and thus improving fluidity. Consequently, the amount of mixing water required is lowered, and cement usage can be decreased. When introduced into oil-well drilling mud formulations, it acts as a dispersant/thinner: both mud viscosity and shear force are reduced, allowing the flow properties of the drilling mud to be adjusted. Meanwhile, inorganic mud particles and inorganic salt impurities remain in a stable suspended state within the drilling fluid, and mud flocculation is inhibited. The product also demonstrates outstanding tolerance to salt and calcium, as well as stability under high temperatures. In addition, it can be used as a concrete water reducer, an oil-drilling mud dispersant, and in fields such as printing and dyeing, among others.
