Product Introduction
Paraffin is a hydrocarbon mixture obtained from specific distillates of petroleum, shale oil, or other bituminous mineral oils. Its main component is solid alkane, which is both odorless and tasteless. Paraffin is composed of normal-chain saturated alkanes with varying molecular weights, generally represented by the formula CnH2n+2. Based on its physical state, paraffin can be categorized as liquid paraffin, solid paraffin, or microcrystalline wax.
Paraffin wax, a refined petroleum product, is amorphous yet possesses a distinct crystalline structure. It is usually extracted from the lubricating oil fraction of crude oil through solvent refining, dewaxing, or freezing crystallization, followed by solvent deoiling and further refining. Paraffin wax is widely used in the manufacture of higher fatty acids, alcohols, matches, candles, water repellents, ointments, electrical insulating materials, and various other applications.

In addition
Paraffin offers multiple advantages, including low cost, abundant availability, colorlessness, odorlessness, stable physical and chemical properties, and a high latent heat during phase transitions. These characteristics make it suitable for a wide range of applications, including medicine, packaging, construction, military camouflage, industrial uses, and agriculture. Additionally, it is widely explored for use in phase change energy storage materials.
