Melamine CAS#108-78-1

1.High Nitrogen Content: Melamine contains a substantial amount of nitrogen, making it a valuable feedstock for a variety of chemical processes.

2.Broad Solubility: It dissolves in formaldehyde, acetic acid, hot ethylene glycol, glycerin, and pyridine, which supports its use across diverse industrial applications.

3.Stable Crystalline Structure: The compound exists as a white monoclinic crystal with virtually no odor, offering convenient handling and storage characteristics.

4.Multifunctional Chemical Feedstock: Its triazine ring structure enables its use in the manufacture of resins, adhesives, and other industrial chemicals.

Product Description of Melamine CAS#108-78-1

Melamine, also known as "melamine," "protein essence," or "melamine (Pinyin: mì'àn)," is a nitrogen-rich triazine heterocyclic organic compound commonly used as a chemical raw material. It appears as a white monoclinic crystal, nearly odorless, slightly soluble in water (3.1 g/L at room temperature), and soluble in solvents such as formaldehyde, acetic acid, hot ethylene glycol, glycerin, and pyridine, while being insoluble in acetone and ethers. Melamine is toxic and is not suitable for use in food processing or as a food additive. Unfortunately, it has been illicitly added to dairy products by some unscrupulous merchants to artificially increase measured protein content.
