A 10% aqueous solution of tetraethylammonium bromide has a pH of approximately 6.5, and this pH remains stable even after heating at 95°C for 28 hours. Due to its chemical properties, the compound should be handled with care, as it may cause irritation. It is widely used as a polarographic reagent and pesticide intermediate, and can also be applied in the detection of precious metals such as gold, iridium, palladium, rhodium, and ruthenium.
